Sleepwalking

Nurk found a nest in our laundry room last night. Cradled in the hippie crap bag he stores the dryer lint in nestled this perfect stick architecture. Which is beautiful and ironic considering how I have been using our house as a hiding spot for the last couple of weeks. I found myself falling down a hole, and as I plummeted, I couldn't grab a hold of anything to break my fall. I had nothing to say in response to the questions my friends brought me or the calls I ignored.. And sleep became, well, an often interrupted joke lacking in humor. Or maybe that was just me.
So now it's Spring, and leaves pop out of dead limbs, my coat goes missing, Charlie and I start roaring up hills, but this time, it's different. I sent off for my new passport two days ago. And priced out one way tickets. Andy comes in two weeks and we make decisions that are going to change my life for awhile. Like talk of subleases and trains, planes and automobiles. I am excited by the inability to speak being because I have no capacity for the language rather than the miasma quick sanding my tongue. I am looking for a new nest despite my deep attachment to the old one. And how does one say "Pass me the bear suit" in Polish?
